Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh made his debut in Udta Punjab alongside Kareena Kapoor in 2016. The actor is all set to star in Good Newwz alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The film will revolve around the topic of surrogacy. The film is supposedly a family-drama with an equal mix of romance and comedy.

Diljit's role in Good Newwz

Diljit has stated publically that he will not feature in any film that requires him to remove his turban. He believes that his options get narrowed down due to this factor. He has also stated that his character in the film was not originally written to be a Punjabi character, however, the makers of the film wanted Diljit to be a part of the project as they were impressed by his work. The actor has been vocal about his love and admiration for Kareena Kapoor and has also sung a song named Kylie+Kareena which is a hit. In the movie, Diljit will be paired opposite Kiara Advani and Akshay Kumar will be paired with Kareena Kapoor. Karan Johar posted a video on Twitter to announce the shoot of Good Newwz.

Good Newwz is produced by Dharma Productions & Zee Studios. The movie is written by Jyoti Kapoor, Raj Mehta, and Rishabh Sharma. Good Newwz was slated to hit the theatres in either July or September. However, it will now release on December 27, the film is directed by Raj Mehta who is a debutant director.
