Bollywood has always mastered telling stories on subjects that are considered to be a taboo in the society we live in. Among many other topics, surrogacy is one such subject. Even though people have started opting for the concept of surrogacy in real life, It is not being openly discussed yet. Earlier, efforts were made to make movies on this unique concept, but it did not gain much attention. However, with times changing, today’s writers and directors think that the concept of surrogacy needs to be heard properly and understood completely.

Surrogacy being discussed in Good Newwz

Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar-starrer, Good Newwz, is said to be based on the concept of surrogacy. The movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Alia Advani. Reportedly, Akshay and Kareena will be seen playing the role of a married couple who is trying to have a baby, but have been unsuccessful and opt for the option of surrogacy. While, on the other hand, Diljit and Kiara will be seen in the characters of a Punjabi married couple who are struggling to have a baby too. The movie is going to revolve around the two couples and their introduction to the concept of surrogacy.

About Good Newwz

The shoot for Good Newwz started in November 2018, and the team has recently wrapped up the filming. It seems like the four actors have had a blast through-out the shoot. Good Newwz is a family-based drama. It is a laugh riot, revolving around the unique social issue of surrogacy. The film is produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, and Cape Of Good Films. It is directed by debutant director, Raj Mehta. Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor will be seen sharing screen space after their decade-old movie, Kambakkht Ishq. However, Diljit and Kiara are working together for the first time. The movie was expected to release in September 2019 but got postponed. Good Newwz will now hit the screens on December 27, 2019.
