Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli arrested for illegal possession of liquor, details inside

Ex- Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli was arrested last night from his Juhu Residence by the Excise police over possession of scotch whiskey, a majority of which has been purchased from abroad as per reports. As per the Indian law, no person is allowed to possess hard liquor bottles like rum, scotch, whiskey more than 12 units for a month. Also, a person is allowed to bring in only two bottles a time from abroad. 

As per section 63(E) of Bombay Liquor Prohibition Act, 1949, if found guilty, the actor could be jailed for up to three years, with a fine to be decided by the court

This is not the first time that Armaan Kohli has been in legal trouble and made news for all the wrong reasons. A few months ago, he was booked by the Santacruz police for assaulting his then-girlfriend Neeru Randhawa but later, she withdrew the complaint.

Apart from these two allegations, a first information report (FIR) has been lodged against Armaan Kohli for allegedly physically and verbally abusing a fashion designer. The ex-’Bigg Boss’ contestant, however, denied the claims made against him. 

The FIR has been lodged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 509, 506 and 34, confirmed a police officer at Versova police station in Mumbai, adding that the force is investigating the matter.

The actor is the son of veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli. Armaan was launched by him in the film of 1992,'Virodhi' but was not able to make a mark for himself in the Bollywood Industry.

His most memorable role was in the movie Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani. He also participated in the television reality show 'Bigg Boss 7' in which he was always quarreling with the winner of that season Gauahar Khan.

On the professional front, Armaan Kolhi's last major appearance was in Salman Khan-Sonam Kapoor's hit 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' which released in 2015.
