Farhan Akhtar 'thrilled' to collaborate with 'giant of an actor' Paresh Rawal in his upcoming 'Toofan'

Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal recently joined the cast of Farhan Akhtar's upcoming sports drama, 'Toofan'.

Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal recently joined the cast of Farhan Akhtar's upcoming sports drama, 'Toofan'. Farhan on Tuesday, July 30, took to Twitter and welcomed the 'Hera Pheri' star on-board.

Sharing a report stating the same, he wrote, "Thrilled and privileged to collaborate with an absolute giant of an actor. So looking forward @SirPareshRawal #Toofan" the actor tweeted.

Rawal, who was recently featured in Aditya Dhar's 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', alongside Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, will reportedly essay the role of Farhan's boxing coach in the upcoming venture. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and confirmed the same. In a  recent post, he revealed that the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial which will feature Akhtar in the role of a boxer will see Rawal essaying the role of his coach. 

Meanwhile, this project will be the second collaboration of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar after the 2013 venture 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' which was a biopic on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh.

However, reportedly, unlike 'Bhaaag Milkha Bhaag', the upcoming sports drama would not be a biopic. It will be a fictional story. The actor is training extensively in boxing to get into his character for the film.

While details about the plot of the film are currently kept under wraps, Farhan is often put out pictures and videos of his workout sessions on social media. He shares it with the hashtag- '#toofaninmaking'

Scripted by Anjum Rajabali, the film will reportedly be Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan and Rakeysh. It will be co-produced by Farhan's Excel Entertainment. The shooting of the film is set to commemorate by the end of this month. It is scheduled for a 2020 release.
