Film Fraternity hails PM Modi & his contribution to the film industry

Imtiaz Ali, Boney Kapoor, and Anurag Basu heaped praises over Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he hosted the members of the film fraternity on October 19

Members of the film fraternity including Imtiaz Ali, Boney Kapoor, and Anurag Basu heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he hosted the members of the film fraternity at his official residence,7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi on Saturday. The gathering was to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of The Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. While the occasion was on the 2nd of October, the celebration to mark the day was held today. 

While hailing the members of the entertainment industry for taking forward the ideals of Gandhi, he urged the creative fraternity to harness this spirit even further. The PM said, “The power of creativity is immense and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation. Several people from the world of films and television have been doing great work when it comes to popularising the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.”

Celebrities heaped praises over PM Modi

Bollywood Director Imtiaz Ali extolled the concept of making movies on Mahatma Gandhi and said, "Making movies on Mahatma Gandhi would be an opportunity to reintroduce ourselves through his philosophy. It's a good time to go back to Gandhi to understand the power that made the most powerful imperialist move out of the nation without violence."

Producer Boney Kapoor further praise PM Modi and his contribution to the industry and said, "This government has always been sympathetic towards the film industry. Right from the time of Atal Vihari Bajpayee, who even recognised this as an industry. Since PM Modi has come, he has made sure that every glitches are solved instantly. Our problems have been addressed and taken care of. And I am quite we are in good hands as long as he is heading the country."

Director-Producer Anurag Basu expressed his delight to be a part of this session and stated that this gathering would help all the filmmakers get clarity over film content.

PM also expressed his delight during the constructive discussions, while expressing his full support to endeavours they would plan in this regard. “The members of the film industry came with a lot of suggestions. I am happy to share that we have addressed them to ensure more people can see the brilliant work done by our film personalities. You all do great work but perhaps you do not know about its global influence. Your work has reached all corners of the world. On the part of the Government, I am happy to help in any way to ensure the maximum impact of your creative initiatives.”
