Prime Minister Modi hosted the members of the film fraternity at the official residence,7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi on Saturday. PM Modi hailed Mahatma Gandhi for his simplicity and shared how his thoughts spread all over the world. He said, “Gandhi is synonymous with simplicity. His thoughts reverberate far and wide.”. Celebs in the likes of Anurag Basu, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kangana Ranaut among others were present on the occasion and in a recent picture shared by the Drive actress, Prime Minister Modi can be seen all in smiles striking a pose for the camera. 'The Selfie Of The Year' or as pitched by social media users features Jacqueline Fernandez, Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Ravi Kapoor, and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Aanand L Rai too expressed his delight over the use of entertainment for responsibility. Rai told the PM, “We are accustomed to being known as representatives from the world of entertainment. But, you have also added a spirit of responsibility to this by involving us in popularizing the ideas of Gandhi Ji."Aamir and Shah Rukh even shot a video together to convey a message to the citizens. Meanwhile, In a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi to mark his 150th birth anniversary, Indian Embassy in France announced the release of a postage stamp. Partnering with French postal service company La Poste, the stamp has been released prices at €1.30. They released the stamp on Wednesday. The stamp bears a quote by Gandhi - "God is truth".
