Muqaddar Ka Sikandar 

The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rekha and Rakhee Gulzar. Rekha plays the role of a dancer Zohrabai. The films revolve around difficult situations faced by Amitabh and Rekha and how they overcome them. Rekha in the song Salam-E-Ishq is remembered until now. The movie was the highest grosser of the year.

Khubsoorat 

Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Rekha was seen in a comic role. She played role of Manju Dayal. Her comic timing and witty replies as a daughter-in-law were hilarious. The actors’ performance received appreciations from the viewer. The movie also starred Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Roshan and Shashikala.

Silsila 

Rekha played the role of Chandni in Silsila. The movie was a love triangle between Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha. Many fans adored the chemistry between the two. It is said that Rekha and Amitabh were dating at that time. The movie was much hyped before it released.

Umrao Jaan 

Released in 1981, the movie featured Rekha as Amiran. After unfortunate events, her name gets changed to Umrao Jaan a dancer and poetess. Rekha’s performance is said to be one of the best in her career. Along with her, the movie stars Farooq Shaikh, Raj Babbar, Shaukat Azmi and Prema Narayan. She won the National Film Award for the Best Actress.

Khoon Bhari Maang 

In the revenge drama, Rekha played Aarti, a loving wife. After getting betrayed by her husband and left to die, she returns for revenge as Jyoti. Rekha was seen dressed in high leather boots and a rifle in hand, something that was never seen before in Bollywood. Her dance moves, headgears, and performance is unforgettable. This strong, women empowerment portraying film starred Kabir Bedi, Shatrughan Sinha, Rakesh Roshan and Sonu Walia in lead.
