IIFA 2019: Salman Khan introduces the ‘mystery girl’ on Green Carpet

Heads turned when Salman Khan walked in with a youngster, dressed in traditional attire, at the IIFA 2019 held in Mumbai on Wednesday. She soon started being known as a ‘mystery girl’ among media circles as they covered the star-studded event. The person was veteran actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee Manjrekar, who is set to make her debut alongside Salman Khan in ‘Dabangg 3’. Salman stated that he’s confident that the newcomer will achieve success and shared that she is good, that’s why she has been cast in the third installment of the franchise.

Identity revealed 

Speaking to media persons at the press conference, Salman was asked if Saiee was being launched in ‘Dabangg 3’.  He replied, “She is very good, that’s why she’s in ‘Dabangg 3’. Her father was in ‘Dabangg 1’, and now the daughter is in ‘Dabangg 3’.” 

He then stated, “The strange thing is that many years ago, Sonakshi (Sinha) was also introduced at IIFA on a ramp.” 

When asked if Saiee too would achieve success like Sonakshi, Salman said, “Inshallah (God willing).” He then had a quirky reaction to it, “I’m not talking about the film.”

Salman Khan was referring to his project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which has been put on hold or has been 'shelved'. 

The actor also revealed that the trailer will be released soon, and that the movie is releasing on December 20, “You will soon see her on TV, social media and the big screen. She has done a very good job,” he shared.

Excited debutante 

Saiee Manjrekar also said, “I feel very privileged to be here. It’s only because of him (Salman) that I have been able to come here, so I’m very thankful to him.” 

Saiee also shared her delight on Instagram, by sharing photographs of the event and writing, “IIFA 2019🤩 my first ever award show with none other than @beingsalmankhan 🙏🏻 Surreal experience, forever grateful💘.” 

It is not yet clear what Saiee’s role would be since Sonakshi Sinha’s character Rajjo, wife of Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey, is a part of ‘Dabangg 3’. It is possible that she won’t be paired opposite Salman, but doing some other pivotal part in the script.
