Bhumi Pednekar shot to fame after her role in Toilet- Ek Prem Katha opposite Akshay Kumar; she has been on a roll since. In 2019 alone, she has acted in four movies. In her career spanning 4 years, Pednekar has never been afraid of experimenting with roles and scripts. She has taken up a plethora of roles and has managed to portray the characters successfully. Let's have a look at her journey in Bollywood .

2015

Bhumi Pednekar made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She was cast opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the movie. The movie had a simple plot that dealt with an arranged marriage between two people who are an obvious mismatch. THe movie provides some good laughs and defied the conventional notion of beauty and love. The movie was written and directed by Sharat Katariya.

2017

In 2017, Bhumi acted in two movies and both turned out to be box office success. She worked opposite Akshay Kumar in Toilet- Ek Prem Katha, a story that took up the issues of sanitation and open defecation, and emphasizes on the importance of hygiene. In her second movie Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, she reunited with Ayushmann Khurrana to bring a light-hearted comedy on erectile dysfunction to life. It is a remake of the 2013 Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham.

2018

Pednekar was a part of the iconic short film Lust Stories. She played the role of a maid in one of the four stories directed by ace directors from the industry like Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee. Lust stories also featured many Bollywood biggies like Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, Akash Thosar and Radhika Apte, to name a few.

2019

This year is a golden year for Bhumi with four movies in her kitty. In crime-drama Sonchiriya, narrating the story of a legion of dreaded, warring dacoits, she was seen opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. In Saand Ki Aankh, she plays the iconic role of the world's oldest sharpshooter sisters along with Taapsee Pannu. She reunited with Ayushmann Khurrana for Bala, which narrates the story of a man dealing with premature balding. In Pati Patni Aur Woh, she will be seen opposite Kartik Aaryan and along with Ananya Panday. The movie is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name. In her upcoming Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare she will share the screen with actors like Konkona Sen Sharma and Sacred Games star Kubbra Sait. Nothing much has been revealed about the plot of the movie.

2020

Bhumi Pednekar will share the silver screen space with actor Vicky Kaushal in Bhoot: Part One- The haunted ship. The movie is said to be based on a real-life experience of a Mumbai-based couple. The story begins with an abandoned ship was lying on a beach. She will also star in Karan Johar's mythological drama Takht. The multi-starrer also casts Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Bhumi will also star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Saare Jahaan Se Accha. The movie is based on Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to go to space. The movie will be directed by Mahesh Mathai and is in its pre-production stage.
