Kareena Kapoor Khan is known to be the actress who started the ‘zero figure’ trend in India when she appeared in a slim-trim look in Tashan (2008). We all know that Kareena is no stranger to transforming her body, be it for a movie role or her own fitness goals. If you are a millennial mother who has gained weight post-pregnancy and if you are trying hard to shed those extra kilos, Kareena Kapoor’s fitness secrets may help you. Although the actress has opened up about her weight loss journey post-pregnancy, she is a firm believer that new moms should be proud of their bodies.

To recap, Kareena Kapoor gave birth to her son Taimur Ali Khan in December 2016. She gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy and now, after 33 months, she has managed to lose a wonderful amount of weight. During a 45-minute live session on Facebook and Instagram, Kareena Kapoor along with husband Saif Ali Khan and celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar shed light on how people should focus on being fit and healthy instead of being thin and skinny. “Your food has to be home-grown. Eating local food and portion control is something that I follow," said Kareena during the live session. She also referred to the fact that she consumes food which is local to the city or the place where she is on a holiday or for a shoot. Eating local food can assure good health and prevent weight gain even when you are travelling. Make sure you follow portion control all the time. Also, according to reports, the secrets behind Kareena’s toned figure are no fad diets but only nutritious home-cooked food. In the live session, Kareena also revealed that the couple swears by rice and does not skip it. The actor added that besides following a disciplined diet, she exercises regularly and sleeps on time. She said that these three things made a huge difference to her waistline. She also said that it took her one year to get in shape, which is completely normal. She stated, “I also want other moms to know this when I say, eat to help your body get nutrition from the inside and not lose weight fast. It should be holistic, not just weight loss”.

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in Angrezi Medium alongside Irfan Khan, Laal Singh Chaddha opposite Aamir Khan, and in Good Newwz opposite Akshay Kumar. The three films are slated to release in 2020. Angrezi Medium is the sequel of Hindi Medium, which also starred Irfan Khan as the lead actor. Angrezi Medium is directed by Homi Adajania, Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan, and Good Newwz is directed by Raj Mehta.
