The ‘Karwa Chauth’ scene has featured in several films over the years, and some of them have attained cult status. But it’s not just a ‘filmy’ thing as Bollywood stars really celebrate the festival in a grand manner. Be it Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput Kapoor or Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, the pictures of the celebrations have been sending the fans into a frenzy. The best part was that there were several gatherings where multiple actresses came together to perform the rituals for their husbands. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Raveena Tandon and many other B-Town ladies were hosted by Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita Kapoor. Another such gathering was when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan and Sonali Bendre Behl came together. The ladies looked their stunning best, as they enjoyed the ‘moon spotting’.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared a beautiful picture of the Karwa Chauth celebrations along with her family, daughter Aaradhya, mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan and sister-in-law Shweta Bachchan Nanda. While Aishwarya was dressed in a light yellow traditional outfit, Aaradhya looked cute in a light pink outfit, similar to her aunt Shweta Bachchan Nanda's. Jaya Bachchan too was all smiles in a light blue and pink saree. Sonali Bendre Behl’s new hairstyle also grabbed the spotlight apart from her bright red saree. One can also seen some of the elements that play an important part in the rituals.
While Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were not spotted at the gathering, Sonali Bendre Behl posted a loved-up snap with filmmaker-husband Goldie Behl and captioned it, “Moon spotting,” while giving picture courtesy to Jaya Bachchan.
Sonali Bendre has been close to the Bachchan family for long. Even before the 'Abhiash' wedding, Sonali had worked with the couple in Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000. The ladies then featured together in Anil Kapoor’s Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. Abhishek and Goldie have also taken their friendship to a professional partnership with movies Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai and Drona.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan shared two lovely snaps with Jaya Bachchan on Karwa Chauth, one in his typical self-deprecating humour, calling himself ‘irrelevant’ and his wife the ‘better half’. In another candid snap taken from back view, the megastar said that one moon was waiting for the other, referring to rituals that involve the wife seeing the moon through a sieve and then her husband's face.
