Revenge is one of the most popular themes in Bollywood films. Over the course time in Bollywood movies, many films have dealt with the theme of revenge, with varying levels of success. The latest film to release this Friday, November 15, is the Sidharth Malhotra-Tara Sutaria starrer Marjaavaan.  From the trailers, one can gauge that Marjaavaan will be a violent romantic revenge drama.

Here are some of the best Bollywood movies on revenge

1. Ghajini

Ghajini is a 2008 action-thriller written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss. It was a remake of his 2005 Tamil film of the same name. The film starred Aamir Khan as a businessman, who develops retrograde amnesia after witnessing the violent death of his love interest, played by Asin, and goes on a rampage to avenge her death. The film was a blockbuster at the box-office and was the first Hindi film to cross the ₹100 crore mark domestically, thereby creating the 100 Crore Club.

2. Ek Villain

Ek Villain released in the year 2014. It was directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures. The romantic thriller is an unofficial remake of the 2010 South Korean action thriller film I Saw the Devil. The film starred Sidharth Malhotra as a hitman, who gets after a serial killer, played by Riteish Deshmukh, who murdered his love interest, played by Shraddha Kapoor. Ek Villain was a box-office success, and the film's soundtrack became hugely popular.

3. Baazigar

Baazigar is a romantic-thriller released in 1993. It was directed by Abbas-Mustan and starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role of a guy who falls in love with two sisters, Shilpa Shetty and Kajol, separately and murders one of them. The music of the film was composed by Anu Malik and the film was a box-office success. Shah Rukh Khan won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
