Nawazuddin Siddiqui Mourns Over The Lives Lost In Kerala Floods

The natural calamity in Kerala has claimed 357 lives so far and the rescue operations by Indian armed forces are on. As the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated the floods to be the worst in a century, a lot of film personalities too are coming ahead and urging people to donate food and clothes for the people stranded in the floods. Recently, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui too expressed his grief over the lives lost due to the natural disaster. Speaking to Republic TV exclusively, the versatile actor said, "It is very sad that whenever any such calamity occurs, so many lives are lost. I think we should be aware in advance that if any such calamity happens, we should be able to save as many lives as possible."

Recently, actor-filmmaker John Abraham too decided against celebrating the success of his recent release 'Satyamev Jayate' owing to the floods in Kerala. In a press statement issued by John Abraham, he said, " I am overwhelmed by all the adulation from the paisa paying public as well as the industry at large. Everyone is asking me when are we celebrating but, for me, it’s business as usual as I’m shooting in Gulmarg for my next film. In any case, I am devastated by the unprecedented situation in Kerala. I have family there and although they are safe so many others are still suffering."

Meanwhile, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has some interesting films lined up for release. Starting with 'Genius' that marks the debut of filmmaker Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh Sharma. 'Genius' will see Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the antagonist in the film and is slated to release on August 24. Apart from that Nawazuddin has two biopics, 'Manto' and 'Thackeray' based on the lives of fiery poet Saadat Hasan Manto and Shivsena supremo Bal Thackeray respectively. Talking about his choice of roles, Nawazuddin said that he gets attracted to roles that challenge him and come across as challenging roles. During his conversation with Republic TV,  Nawazuddin said, "I get attracted most to those roles which I feel I can't do it and feels impossible for me. I get attracted to such roles to make them possible."
