Pankaj Tripathi reveals his father is 'not too proud' of his achievements

Pankaj Tripathi, who is known as one of the most versatile actors in the film industry, revealed that his father is not proud of his achievements. The actor rose to fame with his role as Sultan in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), and since then, he has given several iconic characters to the industry. However, despite his achievements, his father has not seen his films in theatre.

In an interview with Mashable India, Pankaj Tripathi reveals his father visited his Mumbai house once to attend the housewarming ceremony. He added that his father is not "too proud of his achievements" and is unaware of what he does in the film industry. On the other hand, his mother is not bothered about his acting and just calls him to tell the actor that he has become "very thin".

"To date, he has not seen how a movie theatre looks from the inside. He sees my work if someone shows him on their computer or on the television, which was recently installed at my house,” Pankaj Tripathi added.

The actor has given many memorable characters in the entertainment industry, such as Sultan Qureshi (Gangs of Wasseypur), Kaleen Bhaiya (Mirzapur), Guru Ji (Sacred Games), Sattu (Ludo) and Bhanu Pratap Pandey (Mimi), among others. 

Recently, he starred in OMG 2, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam. In the film, he is playing an important role of a father, who fights for his son after being caught masturbating in school.
