Prabhas, who is currently one of the leading actors in the Bollywood as well as Tollywood industry celebrates his 40th birthday today. Born on October 23, 1979, the South superstar rose to fame in Bollywood with his Baahubali series. The actor recently made his Bollywood debut with Saaho starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Even though he is extremely popular, there are a lot of facts about him that his fans are unaware of. Here are a few lesser-known facts about the Saaho actor.

What’s in a name?

While the star gained popularity with the name Prabhas, very few would be aware of the fact that Prabhas isn't his original name. Prabhas’ real name is Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati. His closed ones also call him Prabha or Pubsi.

Bollywood debut

While the star recently made his Bollywood with Saaho, very few people know that the star has actually starred in a Bollywood movie before. Prabhas was briefly seen shaking a leg with Sonakshi Sinha in her 2014 film, Action Jackson. The song was choreographed by dance master Prabhu Deva.

Career alternative

In an interview, Prabhas once revealed that if not for acting, he would have definitely gone for being a hotelier. Being in the food business was the dream job for the actor. Prabhas is an engineer by degree and studied at DNR School in Bhimavaram.

A statue at Madame Tussauds

Prabhas is the first south Indian actor to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok. The statue features him as his popular character, Amarendra Bahubali.

Huge fan of Rajkumar Hirani

Reportedly, Prabhas revealed that he loves watching Rajkumar Hirani’s films. He has watched Munna Bhai MBBS and 3 Idiots for over 20 times. As for Hollywood, the star revealed that he is fond of Robert De Nero's work. He also revealed that Bhakta Kannappa is his all-time favourite south Indian film.
