Over the past few years, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has established herself as an A-list star in both Bollywood and Hollywood. She is also a successful singer and model as well. She had no background or connections in the film industry when she won Miss World crown. Thamizan was her acting debut

The 7 Khoon Maaf actor Priyanka Chopra made her acting debut with the film Thamizhan in the year 2002. However, her first Bollywood debut was The Hero: Love Story of a Spy in 2003. She played the leading role in Andaaz which features Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles.

Directoral debut for Majith

Thamizhan was not just Priyanka Chopra's acting debut. Screenwriter, Majith who has worked in Tamil films, made his directorial debut with the 2002 release. The film was a social drama film, and it received mixed reviews from the audience.

D. Imman's debut as a music director

Immanuel Vasanth Dinakaran, who is better known as D Imman is a singer who predominantly works in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industry. Thamizhan was his first film as music director and since then, he has composed for more than 100 films. He has also composed music for TV serials.
