Looks like Bollywood is in a spree to make interesting remakes. After the announcement of the making of 1978 classic venture 'Pati Patni Aur Woh', recent reports suggest that a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s comedy-drama 'Chupke Chupke' is in making.
It further states 'Stree' actor Rajkummar Rao is roped for the project and he is all set to take up Dharmendra's role in the upcoming film.
The original film which starred Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Asrani, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan and Om Prakash, in the lead was a massive success and still counts in the 'must watch' list of the movie buffs.
As per media reports, Rajkummar Rao who is also a huge fan of the film loved the idea of a remake and has agreed to come on board. Similar to the previous venture, Rajkummar will have a double role in the film. Media reports suggest producer Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan have collaborated for the remake. However, not much about the upcoming venture has been revealed yet. Reports suggest that the rest of the cast and the script of the film is yet to be finalised.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Rajkummar Rao who last appeared in 2018 venture 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' opposite Sonam Kapoor has quite a number of films in the pipeline for release including Made in China, Rooh Afza and Turram Khan. Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming venture Mental Hai Kya which also stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead.
