Simmba, released last year, is a story about a corrupt officer turning into the right path after a series of dramatic events. The film saw Ranveer Singh play the lead, as Sangram Bhalerao. The versatile actor took the role of a cop for the first time. The film also saw Sara Ali Khan as Ranveer’s love interest. The Rohit Shetty film had some intriguing dialogues to offer which was one of the reasons for the film's box office success. According to reports, Simmba was one of Ranveer Singh's biggest commercial success.

 “Yeh kalyug hai, kalyug. Yahaan sab sirf ek hi matlab ke liye jeete hai, apne matlab ke liye.” Ranveer said this in reference to the corruption that exists. The dialogue translates to the following meaning-people in this century live only for themselves. 

“Aae! Kidhar pe bhi de par sar pe nahi”. This dialogue was said by a young Simmba ( the little boy who played Ranveer) when a police inspector hits him on the head. The meaning of the dialogue is that you can hit anywhere but not the head. 

“Bhau, je mala maahit naahi te sanga. Tell me what I don’t know.” Ranveer Singh as Simmba said this to the antagonist Sonu Sood. The literal meaning of which is mentioned in the dialogue itself. 

“Mein police wala bana paisa kamane ko, Robinhood banke dusre ka madad karne ke liye nahi.”  Ranveer exclaims this to a fellow officer. He expressed that he is doing the job of a policeman to earn money and not to help people. 

“Jab tak yeh rapist logon ko apun police log thokte nahi na, tab tak kuch nahi badlega.” This dialogue was said by Siddarth Jadhav who played the role of Ganesh Tawde. The meaning of the dialogue is that nothing will change until the rapists are shot.

On the work front

Ranveer Singh will be seen in his next, '83. The film is about India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning feat and how India managed to create history. Ranveer Singh’s on-screen wife is Deepika Padukone, who will essay the role of Romi Dev. The film is directed by Kabir Khan of Sultan and Tubelight fame.
