Ranveer Singh reveals big change in Bollywood post the #MeToo movement

Actor Ranveer Singh identified the changes in the movie business after the #MeToo movement, and claimed there is an increased awareness about harassment

In a recent candid interview with a leading fashion magazine, actor Ranveer Singh opened up about the women in his life. He claimed that his soul is feminine as he was always surrounded by strong women like his grandmother, mother, sister and now his wife, actor Deepika Padukone. He also emphasized on the increase of awareness in the Hindi film industry post the #MeToo movement.

Many instances of sexual harassment have cropped up in Bollywoood because of the #MeToo movement. Actor Ranveer Singh lauded the after-effects of this movement as he revealed that the call sheet, which details any film's production schedule, now has a helpline number to be used in case of any kind of harassment. Ranveer considered this basic recognition of inappropriateness at the workplace a landmark achievement when it comes to an issue like sexual harassment, which is what the #MeToo movement was all about.

Ranveer Singh claims to have an intense side to his personality which he hides from the public and reserves it only for his characters onscreen. The actor is known for the amount of versatility he brings to his roles through the hardcore preparation he undergoes before shooting his films. Recently, he sent social media abuzz with his clean-shaven avatar which is reportedly for one of his upcoming movies.

Along with the Oscar buzz

The Band Baaja Baaraat actor who is currently basking in the glory of having his film Gully Boy in the lineup for Oscars has reportedly finished filming his upcoming movie '83 in which he plays the role of cricketing icon Kapil Dev. The sports drama is based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Helmed by Kabir Khan, the movie has an ensemble cast consisting of Harry Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, among others. Ranveer Singh is also gearing up to shoot for Karan Johar's multi-starrer periodic drama Takht as well as debutante director Divyang Thakkar's Jayeshbhai Jordaar, to be produced by Yash Raj Films. He is also expected to make an appearance as Simmba in Rohit Shetty's next venture Sooryavanshi which stars actor Akshay Kumar in the lead.
