Sadak 2: Here is all you should know about the first Sadak film

One of the major projects Mahesh Bhatt is currently working on is Sadak 2. The movie stars two of his daughters, Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. Sadak 2 has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The film is in its production stages yet and Alia took to Instagram to give fans a sneak peek into the sets of the film. The actress shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of the movie. For those who don't know, Sadak 2 is the sequel to the original film, Sadak which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. 

The shooting is currently going on in Mysore and in the newly released pic, she can be seen bonding with her elder sister Pooja Bhatt. The sibling duo can be seen sitting on the footsteps of a hill looking sideways, donning boots, jeans, and tees. Alia captioned it saying, "priceless moments with the big sister...". This has only made us more curious about how the movie would look like. As the Bhatt sisters start prepping for the role, here is all you need to know about the original Sadak movie.

The storyline of Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt starrer Sadak : 

In the first movie, we see Sanjay Dutt in the lead role as Ravi. Dutt plays the role of a worrisome young man who works day and night to earn his daily bread. He drives a taxi in order to earn money and forget his horrible past. One day, Ravi goes to visit his friend Gotya at a brothel. He falls in love with Pooja, who is forced under prostitution. Both Ravi and Pooja fall in love with each other and wish to start a life together but they are faced with difficulties. The head of the brothel, Maharani, is against their love story. She does not allow any of her prostitutes to fall in love with anyone. Ravi fights the Maharani to set Pooja free from the brothel. The movie was released in 1991 and is one of the most compelling stories till date.

Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt will be returning as Ravi and Pooja in Sadak 2. Makers of the film have revealed that their story will be taken forward by Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur, who are the additions to the franchise. As per media reports, Sadak 2 is scheduled to hit the screens on March 25 next year. This movie will be directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
