The Sky Is Pink: Zaira Wasim plays Aisha Chaudhary in the film

The Sky is Pink hit the screens on October 11, 2019. The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim, Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf. Zaira Wasim is playing the character of Aisha Chaudhary in The Sky is Pink. The film is based on a true story. In the movie, Aisha gets diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. It is a beautiful family film directed by Shonali Bose.

The inspiration behind Zaira Wasim’s role in The Sky is Pink

The film is based on the real story of Aisha Chaudhary. Aisha was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was a happy soul who loved living her life to the fullest. Aisha was fond of painting and loved spending time with her two dogs.

Before Aisha passed away in 2015, she had already inspired millions through her inspirational talks and her book, My Little Epiphanies. At the age of 17, in one of her talks, she shared her life story with the audience. She told them that the only way to deal with it is to be happy. Talking about how she was diagnosed, she told them that soon after her birth, the doctors said that her immune system wasn’t developed and she had to undergo a bone marrow transplant when she was just 6 months old. Her parents were told that she will only survive for a year.

Aisha’s parents had already lost a daughter, Tanya, to the same disease. Aisha’s diagnosis came early, mainly because her parents had already been through it once.

Following her transplant, she had to undergo extensive chemotherapy which eventually led to another medical condition, Pulmonary Fibrosis. She explained that at the time of her TedTalk, her lung capacity was only 20%. Living her life as best as she can, Aisha Chaudhary passed away in 2015.
