Vaani Kapoor: Why the actor is the new protege of Yash Raj Films

Vaani Kapoor is all set to create waves with her latest release War. Directed by Siddarth Anand, the movie will also feature Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead role. War is Kapoor's four association with production house Yash Raj Films. The actor debuted in Bollywood with Yash Raj Films' Shuddh Desi Romance. With three movies down, one wonders if Vaani Kapoor is the new Yash Raj Films' protege?

'The three-film deal'

Vaani Kapoor debuted in 2013 with Shuddh Desi Romance. The actor in an interview revealed how she was shortlisted. The actor vividly remembers her first audition at Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai. All through the auditioning was unaware of Shudh Desi Romance. The actor also revealed to the media she had signed a three-film contract with YRF.

Next few releases of Vaani Kapoor

After Shuddh Desi Romance the actor starred in the Telugu remake of Band Baaja Baaraat. The movie titled Aaha Kalyanam featured actor Nani alongside Kapoor. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the movie was produced by YRF. 
After her Tamil debut, the actor featured in Ranveer Singh starrer Befikre. The romantic drama was directed and produced by Aditya Chopra. The movie narrated the tale of Dharam and Shyra played by Ranveer and Vaani who fall in love in the city of Paris. The movie was a box office debacle, but the critics appreciated Kapoor's performance as Shyra. 

Vaani Kapoor is garnering accolades from all quarters, for her role in the action-thriller War. Reportedly the movie has collected about ₹ 74 Crore at the box office. While the movie is running successfully in theatres, the actor has started preparing for her next. Kapoor will feature in Shamshera. The movie starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in the lead is directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films.
