Vidhu Vinod Chopra: The movie Shikara gets a new release date

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is one of the most famous directors of Bollywood. He has given the Indian Film Industry some of its greatest hits. He is most known for Munna Bhai film series, 3 Idiots, and Sanju. At a very early point in his career, the director earned the National Film Award for Best Short Experimental Film for his Murder at Monkey Hill. The movie Shikara gets a new release date 

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is all set for the release of his new movie Shikara - A Love Letter from Kashmir. The movie has a new release date now. It will be released on February 21, 2020. The release date for the romance movie Shikara was announced by the official handle of the Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films on November 2, 2019. The movie is based on true events and narrates the story of the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.

About the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus and the movie

The Hindus of Kashmir Valley were reportedly forced to flee as they were being targeted by the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front during the late 1989 and early 1990. In the aftermath of the exodus, the militancy of the Kashmir was said to have increased and the laws of the state started becoming more and more strict. The event is considered by many as one of the cruellest events in the history of Kashmir. Chopra's upcoming movie will supposedly give the audience a glimpse of the events that took place in Kashmir. The movie will talk about the lives of those who still continue to live as refugees in their own country. Shikara will revolve around the struggle story of two Hindu pandits, Shiv and Shanti. Chopra has often touched upon the social evils in his movies and has tried to show the dark side of the world with a very positive approach according to critics on the internet. Fans of the director are eager to see how the movie turns out to be.
