Angelina reveals it all

"The real truest love pulls out your best self. It's what you value, what you're loyal to and what you're willing to fight for. So I think that truest love does that, and I think for Maleficient--it's the surprise that she didn't realize that she had it in her," she said.

While reacting to her character in the film which people have denoted as cold and evil, she also said that she thinks Maleficent is wild and that there is a thing like that in all of us that is not safe or fine that just wants to have fun and be our best self. But reportedly she has said that she has not always felt a similar way in recent years.

Her kids have helped her rediscover herself

She said that there have been times in her life where she has felt that maybe she has hidden her children well from public where she has not felt safe and have not felt free of harm. She has felt small and has felt cornered. She said that for her it has taken a lot to find that again which is more today than it was in the last few years. However, it is her kids who helped her rediscover herself. Jolie is a mother to Shiloh, Vivienne Marcheline, Pax Thienn, Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley, and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt.

"When your children are little you feel more 'mommy.' When they are teenagers you start to remember yourself as a teenager," she said in an interview with Hello! earlier this month. "You see them going to punk clubs and you wonder why you can't go. I'm in this funny moment where I'm rediscovering myself."
