Robert Downey Jr dedicates his People's Choice Awards to Stan Lee

During the People’s Choice Award which was held at Los Angeles on November 10, Robert Downey Jr received an award titled the Male Movie Star of 2019, for his impeccable performance in Avengers: Endgame. 

Robert Downey Jr's Tribute to Stan Lee

The actor who brought tears in the eyes of Marvel fans after the death of his character in Avenger’s Endgame dedicated his award to the late great Stan Lee who with his brilliance created the character of Iron Man along with the character of other Marvel superheroes. Downey kept his speech short and simple, at the same time praised the co-creator of Tony Stark. During his speech, he said he would like to extend his gratitude to Disney, Marvel and the Russo brothers. He then dedicated his award to the great Stan Lee, referring to him as a friend and was quoted saying, “this is for you buddy”.

Stan Lee died of heart failure

Stan Lee died at the age of 95 in Los Angeles last year in November. The news of his death brought sorrow among his fans. Robert Downey Jr also posted a picture Stan Lee and himself on Instagram to pay his condolences and tribute to the comic legend who gave the world a unique blend of Marvel superheroes. Marvel also later posted on Twitter the cause of his death. Stan Lee, died of heart failure and due to breathing problems. One of the international media houses reported that Stan Lee was suffering from aspiration pneumonia, in which a person inhales food, drink, saliva into their lungs.

Avenger’s Endgame bagged the People’s Movie of the year

People’s choice award is organised to acknowledge the accomplishments in films, music and T.V throughout the year. This year the People’s Choice award was bagged by Avengers Endgame for People’s movie of the year along with Stranger Things securing its position for the T.V series of the year, with Millie Bobby Brown was awarded the female T.V star of the year. Avengers Endgame also received the Action Movie of 2019 award.
