3 things you need to know

  • Zendaya aims to become a director, overcoming shyness.
  • Challengers film release delayed due to ongoing actors' strike.
  • Highly anticipated Dune: Part Two is set for November release.

Zendaya says she was always a 'very shy person'

Zendaya, who has often been noted for her reserved demeanour, acknowledged that her introverted nature initially hindered her from fully exploring new opportunities. "I was always a very shy person and that can cause me not to put myself out there… for fear of looking dumb," Zendaya disclosed. Yet, her experiences in acting have gradually instilled in her a sense of "fearlessness" that empowers her to take on new challenges.

As part of her quest to step into the director's chair, Zendaya shared her strategy of learning from established directors. "I really want to be a director. And I’ve been around directors my whole life, and that’s what I did on set. I would ask my directors: Hey Can I come to set and shadow you and watch you while you work?" she explained. By seeking guidance from seasoned directors, Zendaya acquired valuable insights and skills, which have been pivotal in boosting her self-confidence and ability to pose pertinent questions.
