Michael Kenji Shinoda, popularly known by his stage name, Mike Shinoda, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, and graphic designer. He co-founded the LA-based alternative rock band Linkin Park and is the band’s rhythm guitarist, producer, primary songwriter, keyboardist and co-lead vocalist. In 2004, Mike Shinoda also created a hip-hop driven side project named Fort Minor; is also the co-founder of the Machine Shop records. He was shattered after the sudden suicide of his fellow band member Chester Bennington.
