It's Vijay's 'Bigil' vs Karthi's 'Kaithi', release date announced

Expect fireworks at the box office this Diwali, because, it is not just Vijay’s Bigil that will hit the theatres on the festive occasion. Karthi’s Kaithi too is gearing up to give it tough competition. It goes without saying that the clash will impact both the ventures, though it remains to be seen how much one would affect the other.

While both the movies were more or less confirmed for a Diwali release, fans had been waiting for the exact dates. There were reports doing the rounds that either of the two movies could try to hold an edge over the other by releasing one or two days in advance. However, social media went berserk when the makers of both the movies announced the release date, around the same time, in the evening on Thursday, and the same date October 25. 

One of the producers of Bigil, Archana Kalpathi announced on Twitter, also by tagging the members of the team and sharing a new poster where Vijay is seen in the get-up of a football player.  “The day we were all waiting for Our #Thalapathy’s #Bigil will hit screens worldwide on 25th October 2019 #PodraVediya #BigilDiwali,” she wrote. 

As far as Bigil is concerned, every single update related to the movie had made headlines. Be it the release of each of the tracks, music from AR Rahman or Vijay lending his voice for a song. The movie also stars Nayanthara and has been directed by Atlee Kumar. Kaithi, meanwhile, has been helmed by Lokesh Kanangaraj.  

Even Karthi shared a brand motion poster video where he is seen with burning wood. 

And he captioned, “The wait is over. #KaithiReleasing25thOct #KaithiDiwali.”

B-Town clash 

In Bollywood too, a clash, not just a double, but a three-way clash is set to take place and on the same date, October 5. Housefull 4 starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol will be the movie taking up the maximum screens. However, Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar’s Saand Ki Aankh and Rajlkummar Rao-Mouni Roy’s Made in China have also booked the same release date and can't be taken lightly.

Audiences of both Hindi and Tamil audiences will find it hard to choose one option from the two, or they might go for both the ventures.
