Tamil Actor Siddharth Gopinath’s wife Smrija Allegedly Committed Suicide

Tamil Actor Siddharth Gopinath’s wife Smrija was found dead on Tuesday, September 4. According to the reports, Smrija allegedly committed suicide. Smrija was found hanging from the ceiling of her room. The police have begun the investigation in the case and are questioning the couple's friends, family members and dear ones. Smrija and Siddharth were married for three years. The couple tied the knot in 2015.

Though the reason behind Smrija's alleged suicide is yet to be discovered, speculations are rife that Smrija had a heated argument with Siddharth before she took the extreme step. According to reports, the couple went out the previous night and had a heated argument on a personal issue post their return to their residence in Maduravoyal, Chennai. The argument turned serious after which Smrija allegedly hung herself from the ceiling of her room and committed suicide. Siddharth was reportedly sleeping in the living room the night the incident took place.

In the morning when Siddharth failed to make Smrija open the door of her room in spite of knocking the door several times. The 'Yaagavaarayinum Naa Kaakka' actor informed the police which later found Smrija dead as they broke the door of her room. However, it is still unclear whether the heated argument between the couple was the only reason for Smrija's extreme step or if there was something else that bothered actor's wife. Reports suggest that no suicide letter was recovered from the location which still makes the reason of suicide a mystery.

What's next for Siddharth

On the work front, Siddharth was last seen in the Tamil film 'Yaagavaarayinum Naa Kaakka' alongside Aadhi Pinisetty and is still struggling to make his impact in the Tamil film industry. The film hit the theatres on June 26, 2015.  'Yaagavaarayinum Naa Kaakka' was directed by Sathya Prabhas Pinisetty and backed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty. The film featured an ensemble cast of actors including Aadhi, Richa Pallod, Nikki Galrani, Mithun Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, and Pasupathy.

While the news of Smrija's alleged suicide shook the Tamil film industry. The reason behind Smrija's alleged suicide is yet to be revealed by the police.
