Nelson Dilipkumar, who is basking in the success of his recently released film Jailer, opened up on Vijay's reaction after Beast's failure. The director has been avoiding interviews since the failure of Beast. However, in a recent interview, he finally opened up and revealed that Vijay praised him for making the film.

'Let’s try doing something better next time,' said Vijay 

In an interview with Galatta, the director revealed that after the release of the film, Vijay lauded him for the efforts he put into making the film. And encouraged him to try something better next time. He said, "Some liked it, and some didn't. We can’t do anything about it now. Let’s try doing something better next time.'”

When Nelson Dilipkumar asked if Vijay was upset

Nelson added that when he asked Vijay if he was upset with him (after Beast's failure), the actor at first didn't say much and left. However, he came back and asked Nelson, "So, our friendship is nothing more than a film, is it? You have hurt me by asking this.'”

Since then, Nelson Dilipkumar and Vijay have remained in touch. Even after the release of Jailer, Vijay texted him saying that the actor was happy about the success. “He texted me saying he is happy about the success. That’s how we are. People keep saying a lot of things. It is better not to respond to all of that," concluded Nelson.

Despite getting mixed reviews, Beast was a commercial success. The film grossed between Rs 210-250 worldwide. Meanwhile, his recently released film Jailer, starring Rajinikanth has earned Rs 300 crore worldwide in just four days.
