Rajinikanth gives shout-out to Raghava Lawrence for Chandramukhi 2, Kangana Ranaut reacts

Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited film Chandramukhi 2 has hit the screens on September 28. However, it opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics. The film is the sequel to the 2005 hit Chandramukhi, starring Rajinikanth and Jyotika. Now, the makers have received a special appreciation from Rajinikanth, the OG Vettaiyan Raja.

Rajinikanth gives a shout-out to Raghava Lawrence in the letter

Raghava Lawrence, who is reprising Rajinikanth's role in the recently released film, found a special mention in Rajinikanth's letter to the Chandramukhi 2 team. Thalaivar wrote a letter to director P Vasu to congratulate him on the film's success. To note, P Vasu has also directed Rajinikanth starrer Chandramukhi.

The official page of production house Lyca Productions, on Friday, shared Rajinikanth's letter on X (formerly Twitter). The superstar has written in Tamil, which loosely translates to, "I heartily congratulate Shri. P. Vasu, who took his massively successful film in a completely new direction, giving cinephiles a beautiful entertainer, and my brother, Raghava Lawrence who has acted wonderfully, as well as the entire cast and crew of the film.”

The Dhaakad actress re-shared the post on her X (formerly Twitter) account and simply wrote, "Wow!!" Raghav Lawrence, on the other hand, penned a note thanking Rajinikanth for the surprise letter. He also shared a photo with the superstar and wrote, "This has made my day, a surprise love note from my Brother, my Guru, my Thalaivar Superstar @rajinikanth. What more praise would we need for #Chandramukhi2 - your encouragement means the world to us. Thank you Thalaiva!"

Chandramukhi 2 witnesses a dip on day 2

On the first day, the film opened to a lukewarm response at ₹8.25 crore. However, on the second day, it witnessed a major fall in earnings. The film earned ₹4.50 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. This takes the 2-day total to ₹12.75.
