From concerned to angry, people faced varied kinds of emotions for Kapil Sharma when he went through a miserable phase last year. The actor-comedian's show going off-air, reports of him making celebrities wait for shooting, hurling a shoe at Sunil Grover, apart from battle with alcohol and depression issues, had all made headlines. He reached an all-time low when he went on an expletive-filled Twitter rant against journalist Vickey Lalwani, and an audio clip of him abusing the latter on call had surfaced. As the ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ star has bounced back from the ugly phase, both professionally and personally, he says that he is not a saint, and it was pent-up anger that came out at a time he was suffering from depression, alcohol problems.

Talking about the controversy, Kapil during his appearance on Arbaaz Khan’s chat show ‘Pinch’ said, "I agree that the language used was incorrect. I was not in my senses. That was the period when I was suffering from depression and was drinking a lot. When people are not in their senses they say such things. I targetted this guy because in 6 months, he wrote some 160 articles on things that were not true."

After Sunil Grover quit the show over a mid-air fight where Kapil reportedly hurled a shoe at him, more negative reports about the actor-comedian had surfaced. It was said that he used to make celebrities wait for a long time for the shoot of his show, and they’d leave without shooting.

On those reports, Kapil said, "The format of my show is such that I cannot be late and I have to arrive 3-4 hours prior to the shooting. Yes, some shoots were cancelled, but I never made celebrities wait. There was this pent up anger that got released like this. When I'm angry, I abuse. Maybe in future also, if a similar thing happens, I might abuse. I am not a saint.”
