12th Fail: Netizens spot cameo of real-life Manoj Kumar Sharma in the Vikrant Massey starrer

12th Fail, directed by Vinod Chopra was released in theatres on October 23. The film was headlined by Vikrant Massey. It opened to positive reviews from critics and a good response from the audience. It has now premiered on OTT platform DisneyPlus Hotstar. The eagle-eye cinephiles have noticed that one of the scenes had the cameo of real-life IAS Manoj Sharma and IRS officer Shradha Joshi on whom the film was based.

12th Fail premiere on the streaming giant on December 29 ending the year on a happy note. Now X (previously known as Twitter) user shared a screengrab from the film and pointed out that in one of the scenes in the film, real-life IAS Manoj Sharma and IRS officer Shradha were sitting in the background. He also hailed the team for keeping the detail in the film. "did anyone notice in the background, real Manoj and Shradha in this scene, What a detailing," the user wrote.

Vikrant Massey has also reacted to the tweet and said, “Haha!!! So I finally found someone who noticed this. True, it’s them. He also shared another trivia about the scene that it was filmed in the same place, which is Delhi Haat.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra reveals Medha Shankar singing in a scene in 12th Fail

Earlier, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had revealed that Medha Shankar sang in a scene on location. 

The director in the conversation with Galatta Plus shared, "All films have background music played by a female singer, that (Medha Shankar) lady is singing on location. Medha Shankar when I was casting, I wanted to cast a girl who could sing. And in the movie, it is not Shreya Ghoshal's voice. It's she, Medha singing exactly on location, that's location sound," he added.

The man behind 12th Fail

12th Fail is based on the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma. Coming from Morena in the Chambal region once infamous for decoits in Madhya Pradesh, he was an IPS aspirant who had put up a brave fight while trying to chase his dreams.
