Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the 77th Cannes Film Festival red carpet as L'Oréal Paris brand ambassador. Now, the actress has treated her fans to behind-the-scenes photos of her getting ready for the red carpet-event.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Aishwarya shared a series of photos in which she can be seen sitting in front of a mirror with her hair and makeup team getting her prepped for the red carpet. She can be seen in a white robe with her tresses left untied. In one photo, she is seen applying mascara, while in the others her team is helping her with makeup. The veteran actress skipped the caption and let her images do all the talking.

On the other hand, the official Instagram handle of L'Oréal Paris has also shared similar photos with the caption, "Through the lens of @gregwilliamsphotography, go behind the scenes with the talented @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb as she gets ready to shine and walk her worth on the red carpet.”

Aishwarya made her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in a dramatic off-shoulder Falguni Shane Peacock gown. Her gown was in black featuring white balloon sleeves and a long trail. The highlight of the gown was 3D golden-coloured flowers and a dash of gold around the neckline. She accessorised her look with matching gold earrings and sported nude shade makeup.

Aishwarya marked her second appearance in a turquoise blue and silver fringe gown from the shelves of Falguni and Shane Peacock. The gown featured an intricated design with a mix of shimmer sequin and metallic accents. The top part of the outfit featured a dramatic structure with fan-like embellishments extending from her shoulders.

However, neither of her outfits impressed her fans and they criticised her for her Cannes appearance. The criticism didn't bother the actress and in a conversation with Vogue, she opened up about her first look. The actress said that her Day 1 outfit was intended to evoke a "gilded glow," but she found the overall effect to be just "magical." She revealed that they wanted to go for a "fresh look" with "easy" and "beautiful" cosmetics.
