Fardeen Khan has been basking in the success of his recently released web series Heeramandi, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The hit show marked his acting comeback after 14 years. During his time away from the big screens, the actor would be trolled for his physical experience as he had gained weight. He was also trolled for being a nepo kid and for his acting skills. Addressing the same in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khan reflected on how he handled the situation.
In a conversation, Fardeen Khan opened up about the "challenging time" and said that he remained "thick-skinned" amid the trolling. He shared that it was a revelation of sorts as it was like "Wow, it can go to this extent" but admitted that it was tough. Speaking about his learning from the film industry, he said, "You know, this business teaches you to have thick skin. You have to, sometimes take a few knocks on the chin. Then again, you got to question how much importance you give everyone's opinion to feel validated yourself."
Khan added that he was surprised to be receiving that kind of attention despite being away from the big screens or limelight.
Khan went on to share how he decided to move on from the trolling phase. He said that at the beginning it wasn't positive for him, but the phase taught him a lot. He said, to him it was a "good introduction to this new age" of social media. However, he didn't let the trolling "break" his spirit. He believes that one can kind of look at it philosophically way or humorously. "But then at the end of the day, you can't let it break your spirit and that's something you got to just be focused on - focus on what's within your control, and focus on finding joy," he concluded.
After making a power-pack comeback with Heeramandi, Khan is now gearing up for the release of his next project - this time for the big screens. He will be seen in Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer Khel Khel Mein, which is slated to hit the theatres on August 15.
