Bosco Martis, who is part of the famous choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar took to his Instagram account to share a lengthy note calling out the makers of Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter. In his post, the choreographer pointed out that the filmmakers have always shied away from giving them their due in promotional material of the songs like Ishq Jaisa Kuch. He mentioned that it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see them not get credit for the hard work that goes into choreographing the song, even after the song and dance steps go far and wide.

Bosco Martis demands choreographers name to be put on promotional material in films

On December 28, Bosco Martis shared a video of himself and his disciples shaking a leg on the Fighter song Ishq Jaisa Kuch. Along with the video, he shared an ‘oath for the future choreographers’. He noted, “It’s been 22 years we have been doing choreography and still find it a struggle to put our names on any promotional material of movies. Where the song and dance are celebrated by the nation and also worldwide (sic).” Continuing, Bosco mentioned that he has shared several videos and reels for dance enthusiasts and feels ‘sad’ when they have to push their names themselves.

He added, “I have shared so many reels of aspiring dancers and the ones who love to dance on our songs we have choreographed. But sometimes it’s so sad to say that nobody knows who has choreographed the song till we don’t push our names. Off late we felt the heat when we could not see our names on promotional material of the song where the music director is mentioned and not the choreographer (sic).“

Bosco Martis hopes filmmakers correct their mistakes and choreographers fight for their rights

In the same post, the choreographer called out the hypocrisy of filmmakers for mentioning the names of music directors, lyricists, and singers but not choreographers. He added, “I guess it’s high time the choreographers should be celebrated. When the Music Directors, lyricists, Singers or Writers are celebrated then why not the Choreographer who makes the actors and the nation Dance? It’s heartbreaking! (sic).“

He ended the note by urging future choreographers to keep fighting for their rights. He wrote, “Hoping there will be corrections made for the future of Choreographers and their names will be mentioned on all promotional platforms specially on posters, radio or another promotional material in relation to the song choreographed .Hope the choreographers wake up to this and definitely fight for the rights . Long live dancing and entertainment.”
