Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, hit the theatres on Thursday, June 27 and has grossed ₹128.65 crore at the domestic box office in the Hindi version in five days despite witnessing a drop on its first Monday. On Tuesday, the movie was supposed to be steady but again witnessed a slight drop in the daily collection.
As per early estimates reported by Sacnilk, Nag Ashwin's directorial minted ₹14 crore on the sixth day In India. Adding the sixth-day collection, the total now stands at ₹142 crore in the Hindi version. Kalki 2898 AD had an overall 23.50 per cent Hindi occupancy in the 2D version and 28.58 per cent in the 3D version on Tuesday.
The nett collections of the movie in India fell by over 18 per cent from Monday to Tuesday. On Tuesday, Kalki 2898 AD earned ₹27.85 crore with the maximum reported in the Hindi version. In the Telugu version, the movie earned ₹11.2 crore while in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam it collectively earned ₹2.65 crore at the domestic box office. The movie had a good start and it was expected that by the end of the week, the movie will enter ₹500 crore club. However, with a continuous dip in the numbers, the movie has minted ₹371 crores after six days at the domestic box office (all languages).
The movie was having a great run at the box office until the first weekday arrived. In the opening weekend, the movie was able to surpass ₹500 crore mark globally. However, on Monday, it witnessed a dip in the daily collection and could mint ₹70 crore, taking the total to ₹625 crore globally. On Tuesday, the movie has reportedly collected ₹40 crore gross worldwide. Adding the sixth-day collection, the total now stands at ₹665 crore.
Seeing the sixth-day collection, it seems the trend has slowed down and might struggle to enter ₹1000 crore club by the end of the week.
