Khufiya: Tabu, director Vishal Bhardwaj's film promises suspense | Watch

The makers of Khufiya shared a suspenseful announcement video of the film featuring Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ali Fazal. It is all set to premiere on OTT on October 5. It reunites Tabu with her longtime collaborator and friend, director Vishal Bhardwaj following successful and acclaimed movies such as Maqbool (2003) and Haider (2013).

Tabu has an eye for detail in Khufiya 

The announcement video of Khufiya set the tone for the film which revolves around the world of espionage. The short clip had a classic Vishal Bhardwaj touch although the concept seemed new for the director, who is popular for making adaptations of Shakespeare's works (Omkara, Maqbool, Haider). Tabu turns an investigating officer and closely observes something on a computer monitor. The camera closes in on her curious eyes that are searching for something.

The camera cuts to a printing machine and we see a paper with the film's release date on it. Apart from Tabu, the movie also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Vishal Ashish Vidyarthi, Alexx O'Nell and Shataf Figar and Ali Fazal among others. 

What is Khufiya about?

Khufiya is an upcoming spy-thriller film that follows Krishna Mehra (Tabu), who is an operative at the Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW). She is assigned to track down a mole selling India's defense secrets, while she grapples with her dual identity as a spy and lover. "The odds are stacked against you when your biggest enemy is not in front of you but behind you," read the film's synopsis

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Khufiya is co-written by Rohan Narula. It will hit Netflix sometime on October 5.
