Triptii Dimri Trolled: The makers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video released the song Mere Mehboob on September 24. The song features the Animal star and Rajkummar Rao. However, the dance steps in the viral song did not sit well with social media users. Triptii, who was labelled as a ‘national crush’ following the release of Animal is now being subjected to brutal trolling for choosing to perform on the song.

Immediately after the release of the song, social media users took to the comment section to share their opinions of the same. The track from Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who is credited for creating some of the best dance numbers in the industry. Filmed in a dingy setup along with a group of background dancers the video features Triptii in a teal blouse teamed with a matching long skirt with a thigh-high slit.

Social media users took to the comment section to advise Triptii to pick roles that she deserves and not give in to the maker's agenda of making her the ‘It girl’. A comment read, “It’s high time Tripti you have to take a stand for yourself. Makers are exploiting your ‘IT Girl’ tag and making you do whatever nonsense cringe stuff they want to promote their movie. This song probably has no relation to the screenplay just like those vulgar songs in bad news. If you want a fanbase then you have to STOP doing this cringe!” Another shared a verdict that the actress ‘cannot dance’.

The song was even discussed on the Reddit sub - BollyBlindsandGossip with users writing, “This is so embarrassing for Tripti.” Users on the sub slammed the choreography for the ‘atrocious’ steps. Some even alleged that the song is a humiliation of Tripti, who has previously been appreciated for her roles in Animal, Good News, Laila Majnu and other movies.

Netizens compare Mere Mehboob with Aaj Ki Raat 

Several users pointed out the similarities between the song Mere Mehboob and Stree 2 song Aaj Ki Raat. Netizens also alleged that Triptii was dressed similarly to Tamannaah in the song, but the track failed to work as well as the former.

A user wrote, “Aap me wo baat nhi Jo tamanna me hai.” While another suggested changing the song name to “Aaj ki raat 2.0 kyu ni kehdete.” A user shared, “The song just looks like a stree 2 song remake . So similar melody . As per my opinion.”
 

The video of Mere Mehboob features Triptti Dimri and Rajkummar Rao in their sizzling avatars which is set in the backdrop of the 90’s era that completely delves into the entire theme. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video helmed by Dream Girl fame director Raaj Shaandilyaa under T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films and Kathavachak Films is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on 11 October 2024 in a clash with Alia Bhatt starrer- Jigra helmed by Vasan Bala.
