Ranveer Singh receives a handwritten note from Amitabh Bachchan, calls it the most prized award

The much-anticipated Bollywood venture 'Gully Boy' made its grand release on Thursday, February 14, 2019, and the rap drama is ruling the theaters ever since. While audience and critics have lauded the film in great words, joining the bandwagon was veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who has sent a token of appreciation- a bouquet and a hand-written note to the actors of the film. 

After Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alia Bhatt, recently Ranveer Singh also confirmed that he has received a letter from veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan for his performance in 'Gully Boy'. Sharing a picture of the flowers and the envelop on Instagram he said that it is the 'most prized award'. He captioned the post saying, "sabase khaas puraskaar🙏 @Amitabh Bachchan"

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and have established themselves among the most bankable stars of the industry currently as ‘Gully Boy’ collected over Rs. 100 crores at the Box office. The duo’s latest offering has also breached the three-figure mark at the end of the first extended week. Moreover, the film also starred a debutant actor Siddhanth Chaturvedi who gained a massive fan following and immense praise for his role as MC Sher in the film. 

Siddhanth was the first one to receive the bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note from the veteran star and actress Alia was not far behind. She took to Instagram to share that she too had received a letter!

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, 'Gully Boy' tells the story of an aspiring rapper who struggles his way up to success. Ranveer Singh aced the role of a street rapper in the venture and was praised widely for his newly-discovered rapping skills. Alia was seen in the role of his love interest in the film.

'Gully Boy' premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday, February 9, and seems like not only Indian fans but the international audience is also impressed by the rap-drama. Audience and critics gave a huge thumbs up to the film and praised the actors for their extraordinary performance. While many on social media reviewed the film praising Ranveer for his versatility, a lot of them marked it as his career-best performance. It is co-produced by Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment productions.
