Raveena Tandon's filmy legacy stems from her father Ravi Tandon, an acclaimed filmmaker and producer. The veteran filmmaker, who passed away in February of 2022, has now been posthumously honoured with a chowk in Mumbai being named after him. Raveena Tandon headlined the ceremony.

Ravi Tandon gets posthumously honoured


An intersection in Mumbai's Juhu locality has been renamed Ravi Chowk Tandon. The unveiling for the same was done by Raveena herself. The actress' mother Veena Tandon and her daughter Rasha Thadani, were also present at the event. Poignantly, the unveiling ceremony was performed on the date of Ravi Tandon's birth anniversary - February 17. Raveena expressed pride over her father's achievements also sharing how she hopes his cinematic legacy continues to inspire future generations to come.

Speaking to ANI, Raveena said, "Today, we celebrate not just my dad's birth anniversary, but his enduring legacy in the world of cinema. The dedication of the Shri Ravi Tandon Chowk is a testament to his passion, dedication, and love for filmmaking. It's a proud moment for our family, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and honored his memory. May his cinematic brilliance continue to inspire generations to come."

Raveena Tandon remembers her father


Ravi Tandon passed away of February 11, 2022. Raveena Tandon took to her Instagram handle to share a series of pictures with her father, accompanied by a caption that expressed how he will always be a part of her. 
The caption to the post read, “You will always walk with me , I will always be you, I’m never letting go. Love you papa.”

Ravi Tandon's celebrated career behind the camera saw him back several acclaimed films over the decades. Notable in this regard, particularly between the 1970s and 1980s have been Anhonee, Khel Khel Mein, Majboor, and Zindagi.
