Bollywood News: The dynamic screenwriter duo, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar reunited after over a decade for the trailer launch of the 3-part series Angry Young Men, which draws from their life and time in the film industry as they scaled heights of success. At the event, Salim and Javed interacted with the media and shared with the fans what to expect from the upcoming show.
Salim-Javed, the iconic duo, reunite
At the trailer launch event, which was also attended by show producers Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Reema Kagti and director Namrata Rao, the reunion of Salim-Javed became the highlight. In one of the instances, Javed was seen handing over the mic to his peer Salim and helping him take his seat comfortably. The way the veteran screenwriter duo interacted with th media was reminiscent of the bygone era. They were last photographed in public together at the event announcing the re-release of Sholay in 3D in 2014.
After the press interaction was over, they also clicked pictures with the crew of Angry Young Men. The series will narrate accounts of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and sibling duo Farhan and Zoya Akhtar as they discuss the legacy of Salim-Javed.
What to expect from Angry Young Men?
A press release shared by the streamer about the upcoming series read, “Angry Young Men is the story of Salim-Javed, legendary screenwriters of 1970s Hindi cinema. Together, they created the archetype of the Angry Young Man - a brooding anti-hero who captured the imagination of an entire nation with his rage, defiance, and quest for social justice.”
