Sharmila Tagore Lauds Success Of Daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor Starrer Crew: This Will Pave Way....

Sharmila Tagore recently shared her views on the film Crew. Set against the backdrop of the struggling airline industry, the film stars her daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor in the lead role alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The heist movie registered good business at the box office and was critically acclaimed as well. In a new interview, the veteran actress shared her views on the Rajesh A Krishnan's directorial. 

Sharmila Tagore calls Crew ‘absurd’

Sharmila Tagore recently appeared on the YouTube channel Dil Se Kapil Sibal and called the Kareena Kapoor starrer Crew ‘entertaining’. She also applauded the film for breaking away from the stereotype of pitting women against each other. She even stated that it has paved the way for better and more female-oriented films. 

The veteran actress shared, “It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure. One is landing a plane, one is breaking a safe, doing all kinds of things together and the camaraderie between the three is excellent because they say a woman is a woman’s worst enemy, not so here.” She added that the film will encourage more makers to make such kinds of movies. She added, “Crew has done very well. Three women are doing all kinds of fantastic things and it has done well at the box office. This will encourage a lot of filmmakers to do women-centric films.” 

Sharmila Tagore strongly reacts to Animal 

In the same conversation, she talked about the action flick Animal. The host of the show mentioned the film and called it a ‘violent’ watch. To this, the veteran actress asserted that it needs to be studied why people liked the film so much. 

She said, “Beyond violence, there was misogyny. But there were a lot of women in the audience who said I want somebody to love me like that. Any film that runs a lot, you cannot rubbish it. You have to engage with it, try and understand it that what exactly is happening here.”
