Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 hit the big screens on August 15, 2024. The film has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie ever. Amid the fan-frenzy, several questions remain unanswered in the horror comedy movie, setting up the perfect premise for a sequel. However, one of the biggest mysteries from the movie has now been revealed.

What is Shraddha Kapoor's name in Stree 2?

Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 left the audience spellbound with the story and performances of the actor. A sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy, the filmmakers maintained a mystery surrounding Shraddha Kapoor's character's name in the franchise. However, a leaked photo of the movie's script has now ousted the well-kept secret of the banner. In fact, Stree 2 ended with Shraddha Kapoor telling her name to Rajkummar Rao's character, and the latter gave an astounded reaction.

A photo of the movie script from the first Stree movie landed on the Reddit thread - Bolly Blinds and Gossips. The leaked page from the script shows the names of the characters and their dialogues. While one character is Vicky, essayed by Rajkummar Rao, the other is listed as ‘Gayatri', seemingly the name of Shraddha Kapoor's character. However, the production has not yet confirmed this and owing to the leak, might end up changing the name in the coming movies.

When Stree director Amar Kaushik spoke about the mystery of Shraddha Kapoor's name 

In October 2024, Amar Kaushik also addressed the well-guarded mystery around Shraddha's name. While talking to the YouTube channel, Men of Culture, the filmmaker said, "Naam jo hai uska vo ek badi mystery hai. I think tumlogo ko kaafi samay rukna padega uske liye. (Her name is a huge mystery. I think everyone will have to wait longer for that to be revealed.)" In a social media post, Shraddha, too, shared that the mystery will be solved in the third movie.

Stree and Stree 2 both had a phenomenal run at the box office. Both films are streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar. The franchise is set in the town of Chanderi, wherein a spirit causes trouble to the inhabitants. In the first movie, the spirit of a woman comes alive during an auspicious festival and abducts men who are seen roaming around freely during the nighttime. Vicky and his gang come together to tackle the challenge, with the help of Shraddha Kapoor's character. In the next movie, the Chanderi town is haunted by a ghost called - Sarkata, who preys on ‘free-spirited and modern’ women. The same gang reunites to deliver a just end to the evil.
