Sunny Deol is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Jaat. The film will be released on April 10, 2025. The film’s cast and crew got together for the trailer launch in Mumbai today. During the event, the Gadar star shared his thoughts on social media's relevance and imagined what kind of child he might have been if social media had been popular during his childhood. This comes to light when everyone is highly discussing the latest series Adolescence released on Netflix.
Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Singh, director Gopichand Malineni, and producers Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and T G Vishwa Prasad attended the trailer launch of their film Jaat at a multiplex in Mumbai on 24 March. During the event, Sunny Deol shared his thoughts on various topics including his childhood. Reflecting on social media and its influence in recent days in comparison to his time, the Border actor said, “Aaj ka jo zamana hai, jahapar social media itna relevant hai, kaash usvakht aysa hota to mai sabse badmash or sabse ustarah ka bachcha samjhte because bachpan mai bht jhagdre or bht ladaiya ki hai. Punjab se aaye hai to utna pyar bhi hai.” (In today’s time, social media holds great relevance. If it had existed during my childhood, I would have been admired as the most notorious child because I got into many fights back then. Coming from Punjab, we had that love too.)
This comment comes amid the growing conversation around the Netflix mini-series Adolecne. Set against the backdrop of a ghastly murder, the Stephen Graham starrer deals with the impact of social media on teenagers and how it facilitates trolling, cyber harassment and bullying. It exposes social media influences on school-going children, which is often more than what meets the eye.
The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind Pushpa 2: The Rule. The official trailer of the movie was released on March 24 and is expected to release on April 10, 2025.
The movie features Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, Ramya Krishnan, and Saiyami Kher. Actress Ayesha Khan, who gained popularity for her song "Motha" in Gangs of Godavari, is also part of the cast. Additionally, Nidhhi Agerwal, known for her Bollywood debut in Munna Michael, will reportedly appear in an item song.
