Sushma Anand, wife of filmmaker Vijay Anand, passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. Her funeral took place on Monday morning at Santacruz crematorium, where film personalities like Tabu, Kiran Kumar and others arrived to pay their last respects. Anand's last rites were performed by her son Vaibhav Vijay Anand.

Sushma Anand dies of age-related ailments
Vaibhav Anand, the only son of Sushma and Vijay Anand, owns Ketnav Studios. Kukko Shivpuri, manager of Ketnav Studio, told PTI, “She was a bit unwell due to old age but had no health issues as such. She was supposed to have her lunch and was going to sit on the chair when she fell down. Her house help and son Vaibhav came running and they tried to talk to her, but she didn't respond.”
Sushma Anand, who was 70 years old, was immediately rushed to Holy Family Hospital. Doctors later declared her dead, stating that she died of cardiac arrest. Incidentally, Vijay Anand too was 70 years old when he passed away in 2004 due to a cardiac arrest.

Sushma Anand and Vijay Anand also collaborated in a professional capacity in two films, Kalabaaz and Ghungroo Ki Awaaz. Additionally, Sushma Anand also worked as a PRO (Public Relations Officer) on the 1977 film Aap ki Khatir.
