The Diplomat Box Office Collection: John Abraham starrer had been performing well in India, until the movie entered the first weekday, Monday. The movie opened at ₹4 crore, followed by a 16.25 per cent spike on the second day and maintained its pace on the third day. Despite receiving positive reviews, the movie's earnings have remained stagnant from day 1. In the opening weekend, the movie was able to earn over ₹13 crore at the box office in India. However, the real challenge was Monday and well the movie failed to pass the test.
Helmed by Shivam Nair, the movie managed to earn only ₹1.50 crore at the box office on Monday (the fourth day of the release). Adding the collection, the total stands at ₹14.80 crore at the box office in India. The Diplomat had an overall 8.35 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday with the maximum reported in Chennai (25 per cent). If the movie continues to earn at this pace then, it seems difficult to inch near ₹20 crore in the opening week.
The Diplomat is facing tough competition with Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava which released on February 14. Despite being in the fourth week of the release, the movie has earned an impressive ₹565.3 crore at the box office with ₹2.65 crore on the 32nd day of the release.
Recently, social media has been buzzing in anticipation of the sequel to Pathaan. While no official announcement has been made, several media reports suggest that the shoot for the film will begin in 2026. When we asked about an update on the sequel, John simply said, “I don't know if there is a Pathaan 2. There will be Shah Rukh Khan because he is Pathaan. My character is Jim. So, we would hope for a film about Jim. There is no update on that.” While the actor gave significant clarity, his fans are waiting to see him in the role of an antagonist again.
