Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail became one of the most talked about films of 2023. Based on real-life incidents, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial was deemed a sleeper hit by minting more than ₹50 crore at the domestic office box office. As the film premiered on OTT, netizens spotted a brief appearance of Manoj Sharma and Shraddha Joshi, on the life of whom the film is based. The lead actor now took to his social media to confirm the speculations and also shared another trivia from the scene. 

Vikrant Massey shares 12th Fail scene trivia

On January 2, days after the film premiered on OTT, netizens spotted a brief role of real-life IPS officer Manoj Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi in 12th Fail. A screenshot of a scene from the movie with Manoj and Shraddha from real life in the backdrop was shared by an X user. Vikrant verified the couple's brief involvement in the movie without delay. Sharing the clip, the netizen wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Did anyone notice in the background real Manoj and Shradha in this scene? What a detailing.” 

In response, Vikrant Massey reshared the post and confirmed, “Haha!!! So I finally found someone who noticed this. True, it’s them. A small @VVCFilms tribute to them. Another trivia, it happened at the same place, which is Delhi Haat.”

All about 12th Fail 

Released on 27 October, 12th Fail is based on a true story that draws from the struggles of the millions of students who attempt the UPSC exam. The film is a story that resonates with many Indians at an emotional level, going beyond the stress regarding studies. Apart from covering exam preparations, the movie also covers the struggles of all the aspirants, exploring the many personal problems that aspiring students face both at home as well as in their relationships during exam studies. This causes a lot of emotional problems for the students who more often than not end up quitting or entering a massive depression.
