AR Rahman Health Update: Estranged Wife Saira Rehman Wishes Him A Speedy Recovery, Clarifies They Are Not Divorced Yet

AR Rahman Health Update: Hours after the acclaimed composer was rushed to the hospital following complaints of chest pain, his wife Saira Rahman shared an official statement. She assured his fans that he is recovering well and that there is not much to worry about. In an audio message, Saira also clarified that she is still wedded to AR Rahman and they have just separated temporarily, due to issues with her health. The composer was discharged from the Chennai hospital after a ‘routine check-up’.

AR Rahman's estranged wife Saira Rahman released an official statement sharing his health update through her lawyers Vandana Shah & Associates. In her letter, she wished him the ‘best of health’. She also mentioned that she is recovering from her surgery and wished him a speedy recovery.

In an audio message, Saira confirmed that Rahman was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pain. She informed that he underwent an angiography and it was clean. She further requested not to be referred to as Rahman's ‘ex-wife', as they are not officially divorced yet. She stressed that they were separated because she did not want to stress the composer about the issues with her health. For the uninitiated, on November 19. AR Rahman took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to announce his separation from his wife of 29 years. Saira concluded her audio message with a special request to his family to not give him any other stress.

AR Rahman discharged, was suffering from dehydration symptoms 

Renowned music director and double Oscar award winner A.R Rahman was rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai on the morning of March 16. Dr R.K. Venkatasalam, Director of Medical Services, shared an update on the composer after he was discharged. He said, "A R Rahman, visited Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road this morning with dehydration symptoms and got discharged after a routine check-up."

Earlier, AR Rahman's sister, Fathima Shekar, said, "He was exhausted after back-to-back travel and suffered a mild discomfort and dehydration. He has currently been given an IV and will be sent back home today." His son A.R Ameen took to his Instagram account to share that his father was doing well and expressed gratitude for their love, prayers, and support. He wrote, "To all our dear fans, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your love, prayers, and support. My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration hence we went ahead and did some routine tests, but I'm happy to share that he is doing well now. Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support. Much love and gratitude to you all." The 58-year-old returned to Chennai after a performance in the United Kingdom.
