Rakesh Pandey, a well-known actor from the Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema, passed away on March 21, 2025. He was 77. As per reports, he breathed his last at 8:50 AM at Arogyanidhi Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai. The actor was admitted to the ICU where he succumbed to a heart attack.
As per multiple media reports, Rakesh Pandey is survived by his wife, daughter Jasmeet, and granddaughter. The actor's last rites were performed at Shastri Nagar crematorium and were attended by close friends and acquaintances.
In his almost six decades career, the actor has featured in several notable films and TV shows. He made his debut in the 1969 film Sara Akash and he was awarded the President Award for the same. Apart from featuring in Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema, Rakesh Pandey was also seen in television shows.
He appeared in several Hindi movies including Mera Rakshak, Yehi Hai Zindagi, Woh Main Nahin, Do Raha, Eeshwar, Devdas (2002), Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Lakshya (2004), and Black (2005). On television, he has featured in shows like Chotti Bahu and Dehleez. He also gave a notable performance in the show Bharat Ek Khoj (1988). After a brief hiatus, Rakesh Pandey a comeback in the comedy movie Firangi, which was headlined by Kapil Sharma. He was last seen in the 2023 film The Rise of Sudarshan Chakra.
